FEBRUARY-3RD-Isaac Bigler, Farmer, 57, died. Son of Benjamin Bigler and Mary Bigler (Gayman)
FEBRUARY-13th-(Friday)Miss Myrtle Reed, 16, was last seen this day getting on a train to Pittsburgh to meet friends whom she said to the train conductor John Walters, would care for her. She was living with a family named Shaner in Marianna. She carried two small bundles and was dressed in a blue suit, and wore a dark blue coat and a beaver hat with white tassels. 
FEBRUARY-21st-The father of the missing girl visits Marianna and later heads to Pittsburgh to try and find her.   
FEBRUARY-26th-West Zollarsville resident, Andrew Davis, who had making is way along the  main road that leads to East Marianna, was found perished due to the extreme cold yesterday. The body was found by Mike Chulick in a pile of snow along the road about 50 feet from the meat market, although another article yesterday says he was on his way to his brothers home when he was overcome by the cold.

AUGUST-24TH-Coal Company is sued for big sum, is the headline in local newspaper. A bill in equity is asking for the sale of Pittsburg-Buffalo property. Pittsburg concern alleges that 1, 750,000 is due on second mortgage given.

NOTES-Marianna Mine is sold to Union Coal and Coke company.

LOCALLY
~Intercounty bridge in Brownsville opened. Replaced the 1831 wood structure ill-suited for the vehicular traffic the National road was beginning to carry. Source.

~WW1 began July 28th, 1914. 
~September 1st-The passenger pigeon went extinct.

1800's drawing depicts a migrating flock of passenger pigeons being shot. This was
 common as passenger pigeons were a source of food for many. Passenger pigeons laid few eggs
 so they could not make a comeback.
