Marianna Canoe Kayak Ten Mile Creek Spring Clean up

Over the years "Paddle Without Pollution" Water Warriors removed thousands of pounds of litter, tires, and illegally dumped debris from Ten Mile Creek. In all the years of cleaning the creek, 2013 brought out the most volunteers and made for the largest clean-up ever on Ten Mile. Thank you Paddle Without Pollution, volunteers, Ten Mile Creek Watershed, and West Bethlehem Township supervisors, for helping year after year so the creek is more clean, scenic, and beautiful.

All of this came out of a 3 mile section of Ten Mile Creek. It's never ending, the clean-ups, because when one section is cleaned new garbage floats downstream within months, in the very same section that was cleaned. Thanks to groups like Paddle Without Pollution and their water warriors, good changes are slowly occurring because of volunteer education. But it is a constant battle.

Please pick up the trash along your property if it's in a safe area. It's really not that difficult for most of us to take a walk and bend over to clean it up. Even if you did not put the garbage there, your efforts makes life less stressful and difficult for those who are already busy cleaning up other areas. Aquatic life and wildlife will thank you by being healthy and plentiful. Volunteer, too, many groups need help. The garbage is never-ending. Education is key.

Maybe our future doesn't have to be based upon the past.
