MAY-25th-Robert A Mercante was born in Marianna to Ralph and Carmella Marone Mercante. 
NOVEMBER-Philip Dillon is elected burgess of Marianna Borough for a four-year term, and elected again in 1937 for another four-year term.  Phillip Dillon, once the foreman of Marianna Mines for the Bethlehem Mines Corporation, lived at Beason Street in Marianna Borough. He worked at the mine from February 1924 to March 1954. Phillip Dillon married Eleanor Collins in 1915 and they had 6 children. Philip entered the mining field in 1916, according to the "Annals of Southwestern Pennsylvania", written by Lewis Clark Walkinshaw. During his time at Marianna mine he oversaw a crew of about seven hundred men. And when he played sports he was considered one of Pittsburgh sports all-time greats.
