JANUARY-Charles Francis Barr dies in Marianna on 23rd. He was married to Olive Emma Gayman.
MONTH?-Record-breaking drought. The reservoir was nearly dry above the dam. Mine superintendent Thomas Jones helped dig a small channel in the creek to get water to the dam, according to records.
MAY-27th-Peter James Zaharoff, 42, died. Buried at Horn cemetery.

~The worst droughts in the United States were between the 1930's and 1950's and are referred to as the "Dust Bowl" years. Many social and economic changes occurred during this time. In the 1960's Pennsylvania and other areas were hit with devastating drought that lasted almost 4 to 5 years.


        



Maybe our future doesn't have to be based upon the past.
