JANUARY-26th-In a Sunday School weekly of the Church of the Nativity in Erie, Pa, there is a reprint of a letter from the Orthodox church secretary in Marianna to the then Reverend. It reads "...as you all know, our Rev. Charles Philips died a few weeks ago and now we are in dire need of a priest, so we are asking you, The Reverend of the church, and any one concerned, that if anyone of our faith is interested and as the qualifications of a priest, we would like for him to notify us as soon as possible. Please pass this word on to everyone possible..." 
NOVEMBER-The First National Bank robbed in West Beth twp. Two masked white men walked in when the bank was getting ready to close, according to reports, and ordered the manager to fill their bags.
MONTH-Marianna Community Public Library opens in the building that was once the post office and Farmers and Miners Bank. Eda Niverth is the first librarian.
