Marianna Borough gets Historical Marker for Marianna Mine Explosion

The dedication of an official State Historical Marker commemorating the "Marianna Mine Disaster" took place on September 28, 2019 at the corner of Beeson Avenue in Marianna borough at the mine-yard entrance.

After the ceremony the Marianna Community Public library had a light lunch for visitors.  Old newspaper clippings, mine-yard miniature display by resident/miner Joe Glad, and many mining artifacts were on display.
