MAY-Allegheny power landowners in power play over transmission line. More than 4,000 people sign a "Stop the Towers" petition against it, including many in Marianna. The Stop the Towers movement was started by Richard Yanock from Washington, Pa. 

JUNE-Mona J. Horne died. She served as vice president, secretary, and treasurer of the Marianna Scenery Hill Telephone Company. 

AUGUST-John W. Roule,80, died. According to his obituary, John was a former employee of Marianna Mine No. 58; worked as a young man at Chataway's Store in Marianna, Marianna Mercantile, Walter Yoskey's Tavern; was Marianna trash collector; member of the Marianna American Legion Post 744; served in World War 2 with the U.S Navy. He was the son of John McKinley(Jack)Roule (John had two brothers who died in the 1908 explosion) and Mary Yoskey Roule. Source: findagrave.com.
