Robins in Winter

Dozens of American Robins are out in large flocks rustling through leaves in search of food, and swooping down on near frozen streams for drink. Worms and insects aren't available so dried wild fruits on leafless vines and bushes are sought.

It was a delightful morning to wake to Robin sounds. Not all American Robins head south. Some robins can withstand cold temperatures and will stick around as long as there is food present.

“The robin flew from his swinging
spray of ivy on to the top of the
wall and he opened his beak and
sang a loud, lovely trill, merely
to show off. Nothing in the world
is quite as adorably lovely as a
robin when he shows off - and they
 are nearly always doing it.”

Maybe our future doesn't have to be based upon the past.
