Marianna is Green

The gentle breeze outside pushes back a sheer, light green curtain in my art room. At the half-open window, I take in the freshly-cut grass and newly-sprouted tree growth in the distance. It reignites my love for the outdoors, and for the color green, a color I hadn't realized I missed so much until now.

Emerald, mint, fern, moss, forest, honeydew, and lime, are green hues that burst through my window making the room look and feel different in an instant. There is an ambiance felt now, a balance of sorts both inside and outside.

The color of nature, against the glowing sunlight and powder-blue sky, has transformed everything including my spirit.

Green is the symbol of nature, growth, fertility, and harmony studies say. It makes perfect sense. It is the color of life. We have this one predominant color for so little time in the year, but really it is a palette of many greens. Green ignites a passion that makes me want to go and recreate, but also to stay and relax. Green is cheerful and refreshing. Magic really does happen when the world is lit up in green. We are lucky to have front-row seats this time of year.

The Color of Spring

Green, the color of spring,
Rules over the land like a king.
The maples and frogs waken,
Into a color not mistaken.
The katydid and leafhoppers,
The aphids and grasshoppers,
All green like the young leaves,
As are mantises the thieves.
The greenfinch too will bring,
Green, like the color of spring.

Maybe our future doesn't have to be based upon the past.
