Fulton Family/Land/Street-Moore

I stumbled across the Fulton name when I took a break from Marianna history to work on my family history. In my research, however, I ended up finding more "Life in Marianna" pieces accidentally. I found out that on my "Kenney" line, a Reverend James H. Kenney (my 4th great granduncle born in East Bethlehem Township) married Patience Moore whose maternal grandfather is John H. Fulton, who lived and died in West Bethlehem Township in 1797.

Reverend James Keeney and wife Patience Keeney (Moore). Patience mother is Margaret W. Fulton whom married Jonathan Moore (b-1777), whose father was Thomas Moore. Margaret W. Fulton's father is John H. Fulton Sr. (b-1737) whom died in West Bethlehem township in 1797. John H. Fulton's father was Samuel Fulton.

I would not be related to the Fulton's, but I would be related to Reverend James H. Kenney and Patience Moore's children. Their children are my 1st cousins 5 X removed;
Reverend James H. Kenney's father is Benjamin Kenney who was an early settler to the East Bethlehem Township area. He is my 5th great grandfather (Benjamin was a farmer). But this is neither here or there since the two don't really have anything to do with Marianna, as far as I know.

I might add, like the Fulton's, the Moore family is an early family to the West Beth area as well as East Bethlehem. I do not yet know the connection to these Moore's with another branch of Moore's in the area; My research thus far does not show that the two Moore families are connected. I will update this post if I find they are.

Here is the original land map of lower West Bethlehem Township where you can see the land of a John Fulton.

 The Pittsburg-Buffalo company purchased the surface of both the Fulton and Shidler farms at about $150 an acre. See also land below Fulton's that is Thomas Moore's. This MAP also shows the Fulton and Moore property on the lower end. The Upper section of West Bethlehem Township is HERE.

 As some of you know, a Fulton is mentioned in the early Washington Observer articles in regard to the mine. And there is a Fulton street in Marianna Borough.

The Land of John Fulton in Marianna, as well as several others including Gayman and Ulery is listed in the Annual Report of the Secretary of Internal Affairs of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the Year ending November 30, 1917.

Maybe our future doesn't have to be based upon the past.
