FEBRUARY-John Dozel, Croatian, in non-fatal mine accident where he was caught by coal pulling down. Machine miner. Married.
MARCH-George W. Campbell-a scraper in mine-was in a non-fatal mine accident where his foot was caught between rail and cutter bar. Black. Married. Source.
APRIL-Louis Bodman, an American Marianna pick miner, in a non-fatal mine accident. Struck in the eye by flying post. Source.
JUNE-James Brown, was in a non-fatal mine accident where he was caught between cars applying the brake. Listed as a machine miner Black. Married. Source.
AUGUST-28th- Three years to the day, a grand Jury acts on killing of Marianna man. The articles states that "...the grand jury in Washington county court today returned a true bill against Edward Johnson. Negro, for the killing of John Briggs, Negro, at Marianna, on August 28th, 1927." According to records Johnson was never apprehended.
SEPTEMBER-16th-"Marianna Negro shot, Wife held" was the title in a article in a local newspaper called The Daily Republican. Dudley Williams, 30, Negro, was shot in the calf of the right leg by his alleged wife, Roshell Henry. He was taken to the hospital and later reported as being in good condition.
OCTOBER-Severe drought.
NOVEMBER-30th-Ralph Mercante born, son of Ralph and Carmella Marone Mercante.
