Down in the Valley
I was standing on layer 2 of a valley in West Bethlehem Township. If I had gone lower in the valley, this photo would primarily be of land and little sky. It reminds me that there is always light above me when I enter a dark place. I knew the further I walked; I would eventually leave the valley and be in full sun. The photo shows a contrast of browns and grays on the lower half and colors of yellow and blue on the upper half. It nudges the feeling of being in winter for too long and longing for summer. Though we haven't had much of winter, and with the stream's heavy flow, I still have more time to uncover the mystery of what lurks in the valley darkness. There is most certainly a quiet awakening happening here. And you can hear it if you listen.
Even the tree's roots and bases are part of the dimness, while their fingerlike branches reach wildly toward the same sunlight.
