Arcadia Theatre

The building now known as the Marianna Lyceum was formerly the Arcadia Theatre. Inside was a theatre, billiard, pool hall, skating rink, dance floor, bowling alleys, reading room, library, and much more! In 1910 the building was destroyed by fire and later rebuilt.

During its time as the Arcadia Theatre, the venue screened films obtained from the Alexander Film Company (founded in 1920) in Colorado Springs. The Alexander Film Company specialized in producing and distributing educational and industrial films rather than conventional feature films. By the 1950s, when Sunday screenings were popular as theaters often held additional showings to accommodate weekend moviegoers, the Alexander Film Company was still active with its focus on educational and special interest films.

Today, the building is still in use and serves as a private club featuring a bar, pool table, and bowling lanes.
