More Toxic Expansion?

There is currently a bid to build one of the largest data centers in South Strabane, PA. Data centers use enormous amounts of electricity and water, generate electronic waste, and can strain local infrastructure while contributing to noise pollution and health issues like asthma.

Communities in our region have already experienced long-term environmental impacts from past industrial projects, such as coal mining in Marianna, which left slate dumps behind, and ongoing energy extraction operations like fracking. Adding another large facility in a county already burdened by industrial activity could further affect wildlife, public health, and our children’s future.
