JANUARY-16th-David Jones, husband of Mary Anne Feehan Jones for whom Marianna is named, and general manager of the Pittsburg-Buffalo company died. Hundreds will pay their respects in the coming days at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg, Pa. In a later article it is said that a few honorary pallbearers are Harris Booker, resident manager of Marianna Mine, and Alexander C. Beeson of Washington who is the chief engineer of the Pittsburg-Buffalo Company. Father John Angel of Marianna was acted as sub-deacon.

APRIL-26th-Sole survivor of Marianna Mine disaster, Fred Elwanger (spelled various ways) dies of complications from diabetes.
MAY-16th-Samuel Cohen, a rich grocer of East Marianna is shot and killed in his home, while his son Moses is shot and wounded by 4 or more men, according to reports. His son Samuel, who assisted the wounds narrowly escaped. All assailants escape.
